We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design activities for heavy industry products—from concept through production release. Key success factors include design quality, manufacturability and mentoring junior engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design work: concept → 3D/2D CAD → prototype → production implementation.
- Responsible for decision-making within assigned scope
- Cooperate with manufacturing on material and process selection (including welding, bending, machining, assembly).
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior designers/engineers; conduct design reviews.
- Work cross-functionally with Purchasing, Quality, Testing, Maintenance and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency.
Requirements
- 5–6 years of experience in mechanical design within a heavy industry environment (preferably manufacturing/machinery companies).
- Proven experience leading design work from concept to production start-up.
- Higher technical education (Mechanical Engineering or related).
- Advanced 3D/2D CAD skills (Solid Edge is a strong advantage).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials: welding, bending (machining/assembly as an advantage).
- Ability to prepare technical documentation, BOMs, tolerances and quality requirements; ability to read and apply standards.
- English at B2 level minimum (technical communication and documentation).
Nice to have
- Experience with PDM systems (e.g., Teamcenter).
- Relevant trainings/certifications: welding technology , materials engineering, CAD/PDM training.
