Slab handling is usually continuous transport from casting to rolling mill. Slabs can be stored on the cassette if needed between process points. The slabs can also be hot with special cassettes with heat protection. Cassettes can be also equipped with thermal insulation covers to keep slabs hot during transportation.
NT Group industrial Translifters are robust and strong. They have industrial bogies and pneumatic or superelastic wheels for long distances. The length, width and height of the frame are often tailored to the customer’s needs.
Load capacity of the Translifter can be up to 300 ton. One Translifter can transport even 1500 tons in hour.
Roll trailers and terminal trailers can also be equipped with additional frames for slab handling operations.
